Hey Sol Warr;ors!
For so long, I have allowed others to get over on me because I do not like confrontation but lately, I have found myself speaking up for myself more and understanding that "No." is a sentence. While doing this I have found myself being happier with myself because I am doing things for myself and not for others. Granted nothing happens overnight but knowing that I am able to stand up for myself is more than enough for me because that is where the conversation of "What is Self-Love" comes from.
Self-Love is defined as being selfish thinking and doing things for yourself, before others. We are going to implement that in our everyday life starting now. Have you heard the saying "you cannot pour from an empty cup?" Well, how do you expect to give love and receive love from others when you barely give yourself the love and gratitude? We cannot keep looking to others to love us when we can love ourselves more than anyone else could ever love us.
Start by doing simple things such as walks in the park, buying yourself flowers, going to your favorite restaurant, etc. The small gestures will help you in the long run simply because you are doing something for yourself that you love. Once you make a habit out of it, you will start to see everything differently.
"Life will always throw you lemons but it is up to you to decide if it's going to be sweet or sour." -Kyy Mosely
So let the love you give yourself be sweeter than ever and love you for you. We only have one of you and there will be people who try to be like you but nobody will ever compare to you ...
