Good morning, afternoon, and/or evening Sol Warrior!!
How was your weekend?
Happy Monday!!
Today we are going to talk about mental health disorders. There is over two hundred mental illness that is known. This week we are going to talk about anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and eating disorders. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, nearly one in five adults have a mental disorder. Someone you know may have a mental disorder and you may not know about it or you might know about it and do not know how to handle it.
If this is the case then I suggest you ask your friend, family member, loved one how they want you to help them. I know for me I need my space. I need lots of space. I rather come to you when I am ready to talk than you come to me when I am not. I know when I am in an episode my mood fluctuates and I go from hot to cold. I try to distance myself from people that I care about because I do not want a repeat of 2017 when I almost lost all of my friends because I didn't know how to handle my depression.
“Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary.” ―Fred Rogers
