Goodbye, 2021. Hello, 2022.

Hello there *in Tabitha Brown* voice. Long time no see Sol Warr;ors!

2021 has been a year for me. I have been through so much in these twelve months that I don't even know where to start. We walked into this year going into another pandemic. The only difference was, it got worse. We started to adapt and make this our new norm. Living in a pandemic where everyone starts to believe that we are no longer in one is mind-blowing! But through it all, we have seen some great times, masks and all.

This year, I was able to do a lot, and do I mean A LOT of self-reflection. I've found myself in better situations mentally. I have some ups and downs. My dark days weren't too dark but more so grey. I learned the most important thing this year though, which was to never give up on yourself. You have to feel the emotions that you are going through. Doing that only allows you to know yourself better than anyone else. These last 6 months I have been in a period of my life that I call "Vulnerable AF". During this time I was able to find myself. I found Kyy, and who she was to me. I realized that I am the only Kyy in the world with my ambition and aspirations. That I am beautiful. That no matter how many people say "You can't do that" or "You won't be successful", I continued every day and proved them wrong. Not because I felt like I had to, but because I wanted to prove to myself that I could do whatever I put my mind to.

At the age of 25, I accomplished one of the goals that I have had since high school. Y'all, I did my first speaking engagement!! It was truly amazing. I won't go into too much detail because that's a blog for another day. But I am saying all this to say, don't walk into 2022 giving up on yourself. We only have a few hours left in 2021 to prepare the mindset we want to have in 2022.

As we prepare to bring in the new year, sit down and reflect on this past year. What are some things that you would like to do that you didn't do this year? How can you achieve those goals? What will you do to continue to make yourself happy?

For me, I will be exploring nature more, creating better content for you all, and allowing myself to be me no matter the situation. I will also start to find new hobbies and pick up old ones. Reconnect with me and become better overall. 2021 was my time to self-reflect as 2022 is my time to implement everything I have learned.
